It\u2019s super easy to use this feature on ManyCam and it can expand your live streaming reach. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this article, you\u2019ll find out exactly what RTMP is and, most importantly, how to take advantage of it, while using ManyCam to broadcast to multiple channels.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><strong>What is RTMP?<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RTMP is a protocol, created by Macromedia and now owned by Adobe, that provides high-performance transmission of video, audio and data between encoder and server across the internet. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The acronym stands for <\/span><b>Real Time Messaging Protocol<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and its definition by Adobe is:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAdobe\u2019s Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) provides a bidirectional message multiplex service over a reliable stream transport, such as TCP [RFC0793], intended to carry parallel streams of video, audio, and data messages, with associated timing information, between a pair of communicating peers.\u201d \u00a0&#8211; Adobe<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This TCP-based protocol, delivers streams smoothly and with a lot of information by splitting it into chunks. Bottom line is, RTMP is an essential part of live streaming. Therefore, most streaming providers and encoder software developers support RTMP streaming, including ManyCam.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><strong>How to use RTMP on ManyCam?<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go to ManyCam and click on the Broadcast button, you\u2019ll see that you have a choice of Facebook, YouTube or Custom Channel. The Custom Channel is where you\u2019ll configure your RTMP settings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the information you\u2019ll need to have in hand to connect ManyCam to your chosen platform:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Name<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Server<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Stream Key<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/manycam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/configure-RTMP.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"no noopener opener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2775\" src=\"https:\/\/manycam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/configure-RTMP.png\" alt=\"configure RTMP\" width=\"500\" height=\"402\" srcset=\"https:\/\/manycam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/configure-RTMP.png 581w, https:\/\/manycam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/configure-RTMP-300x241.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, the first thing to do is choose where you want to stream to. Meaning, which platform you want to go live on. In this case, we chose YouNow, a well-known live streaming platform. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the YouNow account, if you mouse over your profile picture, you\u2019ll be able to go to settings. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will probably be on the right tab already, which is Information. If not, simply click on the \u201cInformation\u201d tab, on the top.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you scroll down, you\u2019ll find the Stream URL and Stream Key.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/manycam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/stream-key.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2777 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/manycam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/stream-key.png\" alt=\"stream key\" width=\"596\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/manycam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/stream-key.png 596w, https:\/\/manycam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/stream-key-300x118.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 596px) 100vw, 596px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep in mind, this connection can be done with most streaming platforms and, generally, they will display similar information.
